VINUM

Cafe Tallulah’s wine program will be run by sommelier and former playwright Tom Gannon. Tom has been a fixture on the New York restaurant scene for more than a decade. Most recently the sommelier at Rothmann’s Steakhouse, Tom built up the wine list there from 500 to almost 1,000 selections, helping the restaurant achieve the coveted Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. Tom was also integral in creating the elaborate cigar and wine dinners co-hosted by Rothmann’s and Davidoff of Geneva on Madison Avenue.

Tom has lectured at the American Sommelier Association on many subjects, including the Advanced Blind Tasting class. He has traveled extensively to wine regions in the Americas and Europe as well as to India and throughout Southeast Asia. A playwright and actor by training, he has two published plays, and recently completed writing the Bordeaux Chapter for the new edition of the American Sommelier Association textbook. He is on track to attain the Master Sommelier title through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Tom was featured in the June 30, 2021 issue of Wine Spectator magazine, and is frequently quoted in industry publications on trends in the wine business.
